Yorkshire based Philippa is an award winning member of ‘The Society of Equestrian Artists’ and has been painting professionally since graduating with an honours degree in Fine Art and English in 1995. Living with successful National Hunt Trainer husband Philip and two year old daughter Isabella Scarlett, most of the artist’s work time is taken up with commissions, and both her Originals works and Limited Edition prints sell globally.

Highlights of Philippa’s career to date include visiting Windsor Castle and presenting the Queen with a painting of her two Highland Ponies, a memorable day in 2004.  Two other important evenings were the auctions for charity of ‘Best Mate’ and ‘Sadler’s Wells’ original oils, and they raised £13,500 and £8,500 respectively.  In 2005 and 2006 the Daily Telegraph used full page colour images of the artist’s oils of ‘Desert Orchid’ and ‘Best Mate’ in their ‘A Year in Pictures’ feature, and Philippa’s work regularly features on Channel 4 Racing and The Morning Line.

The artist has painted for some of the top Racing families, not just of racehorses  but also now for several leading Greyhound connections.  Some notable commissions include three Cheltenham Gold Cup winners: ‘Cool Dawn’, ‘Jodami’ and ‘Best Mate’. Grand National winner, ‘Red Marauder’, and Irish Greyhound Derby winners ‘Climate Control’ and ‘Murty’s Gang’. A commission for the summer of 2008 is the top Irish greyhound and sire, ‘Tyrur Ted’.
